Rumblings from the Troll Cave.

Art, musings and intarweb detritus from a reclusive old troll and his cowardly cat.

All artwork you see here is my own, unless otherwise noted (or obviously reblogged).

I was at a special presentation for the launch of a historical walking tour here in New Brauntown. Our agency did all of the print collateral and I personally drew the pocket watch (adorned with footprints) which was used in the logo.

Much to my surprise, one of the catered goodies was a sugar cookie in the shape of my drawing. That is definitely a first.

Tomorrow my boss and I will be meeting over lunch to discuss my potential new role in the agency: Copywriter/Editor. He seemed excited about the notion when I floated it past him last week. Let’s see if we can come to amicable terms. I think it will be a breath of fresh air after 15 years of “design” work. My major sticking point will be the creation of a brand new position, since we currently employ freelancers, and not just an addendum to my current responsibilities.

Wish me luck :)

After work, I’ll be at a wine and cheese soirĂ©e in my landlord’s gorgeous Victorian. There are new tenants moving into the neighborhood, so he’s hosting a little meet and greet.

Meow.

Deep below it all coils the shadow aspect of wolf.

Until it wraps around the moon.

Blow, wind, blow!

Giving breath to the howling wind.

Close-up of the wolf.

This is a large gourd rattle which I donated to a charity auction. The winning bidder told me what he wanted depicted, and I made it happen. “A wolf on a cliff, with the night sky behind him and lots of greens and browns below”. I took that and added a little juice to it. 5 images to follow.

I’ve been a busy little troll lately, so pardon the mini art flood which is about to commence. First up is an 8’x1.5’ banner for my camp at Pagan Spirit Gathering.

Full of chili, tequila, and slouched over my office computer while I complete a personal project after hours. Don Draper can eat a D.

I spent several hours in the sun with my delightful parents. They’re now bound for Wisconsin. My sister gets them in the summer, when Cheeseland is wonderful and green. There’s a Persephone reference in there somewhere.

I worked late Friday. I napped. I laughed. I played some video games. I had the opportunity to sleep in, but woke up before 8am because I’m old. I drank some whiskey. I finished painting a gourd rattle. I told Winston that he’s handsome, ad nauseum.

I had a good long time to think. I existed.

Back to the pixel mines tomorrow.

We are a circle within a circle.

If they were covered in AIM toothpaste. Mmmm… minty.
